Are you under the impression that eating healthy meals -- especially those low in calories and carbohydrates, means sacrificing taste? Think again.

With a pinch of creativity and a little help from a certain stellar cookbook, you can lose weight, prevent diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, and boost your metabolism simply by eating the right foods. Low-carb diets such as Atkin's, Paleo, and South Beach diet have proved to be one of the most effective diets for healthy eating and weight management. Couple this with low-calorie foods, and, as famous chef Emeril Lagasse would say, "BAM!" You get the best of both worlds!

This cookbook contains low-calorie, low-carb collection of recipes for anyone interested in a myriad of benefits of both. This could be used as part of several low carb diets such as Atkin's, Primal, Paleo etc. A number of these recipes include no carbohydrates, while the majority (80%) contain less than one gram.

Lastly, this book was put together with another goal to show you that dietary restrictions does NOT mean sacrificing taste. They don't need to take longer to prepare, and you don't need to be a master of the kitchen to follow any recipe in this book.

Additionally, we have shied away from strictly ethnic cuisines that demand a pantry full of specialty spices and ingredients. Take a moment to look through our book and you will see that you will likely have most of the ingredients already on hand. And there's more.

Inside "Low Carb Low Calorie Cooking Extravaganza" you will find

The only negative I have, and it is important for people on an Atkins or low carb diet, is that the author did not calculate the carbohydrate counts correctly. Most of the recipes are indeed very low carb, but not quite as low as she marked. For example, tortillas and split peas are NOT low carb foods. And such foods as tomatoes, onions or Splenda are not carb-free and must be counted in the total amount used in a recipe.
All in all though, most are wonderful recipes and a good meals for eating low carb. Just do your own calculations for net carbs and you should be fine.

71 Low Carb Low Calorie Recipes Healthy Eats Book 1 edition by Susan Daniels Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews

On the Go Sausage and Cheese Muffins sounds like a great Sunday brunch item to make for company or your family. Pecan and pumpkin pancakes? Heavenly! I want some right now! The spicy pecans sound like a healthy treat too! This book just proves once again that you can have your goodies without a lot of carbs! I'm always on the lookout for low carb alternatives and this book fits the bill.
I recently downloaded this book (and it is the fist time I have done that) vs. a hard copy and am really enjoying the recipes. I am an average cook however am not a big fan of too many ingredients and a recipe taking too much time. So far all the recipes are delicious and fairly easy to pull together. Looking forward to trying more of them!
Susan Daniels has put quite a bit of effort into collecting recipes for her Low Carb Low Calorie Cooking Extravaganza (Healthy Eats), researching her information and recipes at sites such as About Low Carb Diets where you'll find those Pumpkin & Pecan Pancakes another reviewer mentions; 3 Fat Chicks On A Diet - their Ricotta Cheese Belgian Waffles sound divine; Simply Recipes, home of Baked Shrimp with Tomatillos; and of course, hardly least though I'll mention them last, Allrecipes, where I found the Asian Lettuce Wraps recipe that looks so delicious.

Daniels has included a very nicely done interactive Table of Contents that interfaces correctly with the Navigation Menu, so she gets an extra star from Grandma for getting that right plus the two I'll give her for putting a bit of work into her collection rather than simply dropping by Allrecipes. By the way, the recipes I found were all very highly rated.

Your call.
Not sure what the phrase was from that TV commercial about Fiber one but the saying totally applies to this cookbook! Usually, low carb recipes and products are a little less tasty (at least to me, I guess I like "fat") but the dishes in this cookbook are an exception. Full disclosure, I have not tried all of them but I've made a couple of quick breakfasts and they came out really delicious! If you are on a diet or just looking for some healthy recipes, this is the cookbook to get!
I'm a fan of low carb meals, as they are most definitely the healthiest way of losing weight that actually works for me. In the real world, it's much easier to eat low carb a couple of meals a day, and then not stress over the odd naughty lunch or cake. And this recipe book has some delicious goodies within, many of which you would be hard pressed to tell were good for weight loss! Nicely formatted book, with helpful carb and calorie info for each recipe, it's easy to find an array of delightful dishes for any time of the day.
This was an excellent low carb low calorie recipe book. Most low carb books do not include or adjust for the low calorie eater. I count calories and also try to watch my carb intake so the recipes for me are excellent. Can't wait to make the crab dip for the Super Bowl next week. Going to be making the meat loaf this week also. Thank you Susan for the wonderful recipes, hope to see many more in the future.
I've just done a skim, but noted there is no pumpkin (or even pumpkin spice) in the Pumpkin and Pecan Pancakes. Also there is no cheese in the Cheeseburger Soup. If other recipes are lacking key ingredients they might make for unexpected cooking and eating experiences.
The only negative I have, and it is important for people on an Atkins or low carb diet, is that the author did not calculate the carbohydrate counts correctly. Most of the recipes are indeed very low carb, but not quite as low as she marked. For example, tortillas and split peas are NOT low carb foods.
